In 1995, Ford introduced the concept GT90. Taking the GT40 of the 1960s as inspiration, they developed this prototype as a sign of Ford's willingness to start manufacturing sports cars again.
Ford "s need for a super car was that he had nothing to compete with rivals Chrysler and General Motors. The first had the Dodge Viperon the market, while General Motors maintained its always successful [Corvette].
The result of the development was a central motor sport with rear-wheel drive, like good thoroughbred.
The GT90 featured a V12 5.927 cm3 supercharged engine with four turbos. It delivered 720 HP at 6,600 rpm and reached a maximum torque of 660 pounds foot at 4,750 rpm.
This concept had a 5-speed manual transmission and weighed only 1,451 kg.
