Honda will present at the Tokyo Motor Show the latest model of its lag of sports prototypes: the CR-Z concept. This car stands out for being closer to a serial production car compared to its predecessors such as Honda Puyo and Honda Small Hybridconcepts.

The name CR-Z combines a double message: the acronym for Compact Renaissance - Zero and also recalls the name of the successful 1980s sports car, the Honda CR-X. The name Compact Renaissance - Zero is clearly related to Honda's efforts to develop a new concept of sports cars.

These two-seater cars should be as fast and captivating as any traditional sports car, but their goal is to reduce the level of environmental impact to zero. That's why its compact size is so important: lower energy requirements.

Obviously, the trend of Japanese concept cars is aimed at reducing the size of the exterior and optimizing the use of the interior. Another pillar of development is progress in aerodynamics, trying to generate less drag to maximize efficiency and reduce fuel or electric power consumption depending on each model.

As with the Small Hybrid Concept, Honda tries to explore the results of a compact, lightweight and highly aerodynamically worked two-seater to achieve good performance with low environmental impact.

Powered by hybrid technology with the IMA system developed by this Japanese brand, the CR-Z significantly reduces emissions and optimizes fuel efficiency. Another resource to improve efficiency is the design of the aerodynamics of the concept, which with minimal height dimensions and a very smooth line from the front to the rear section allows to significantly reduce the drag coefficient.

Inside you can appreciate the intelligence and good judgment applied. With its ergonomic appearance well attended and abundant luminosity thanks to the glass roof that ends in the last part of the trunk, this interior could well be that of a serial production car. It also has a complete information center for the driver.

The 19-inch wheels are lightweight alloy and look 5 rays well polished. Other elements of equipment to be highlighted are the LED headlamps and instruments also composed of LEDs.
