The F430 was presented at the Motor Show in Paris in September 2004. Although the designation 400 was for the four-seater Ferrari, they are now two-seater. The 4-seater models (2 + 2) adopt the numbering 600, like the 612 Scaglietti.
Some of the most notable technological innovations in the F430 are the electronic differential E-Diff and the command systems of dynamic systems integrated in the steering wheel. The latter is known in the Ferrari Formula 1 team as “manettino”.
Other truly advanced built-in technologies can be seen in the brakes. The system includes carbon-ceramic discs for maximum efficiency in extreme handling conditions.
The main advantages lie in tolerance to high temperatures and minimum expansion, which ensures equal braking conditions in any driving condition. Carbon-ceramic brakes are not standard, but are available as optional.
Aerodynamics is a key factor in the F430, especially in the ground. It is prepared to generate downforce and have maximum stability in turns at high speeds.
The gearbox operated from the steering wheel is built with Formula 1technology and criteria. Reduces shifting times between gear to 150 milliseconds, enabling you to achieve maximum V8 performance.
The 90° V8 with 40 valves is really very light and compact. With 4,300 cm3 and 11.3 to 1 compression radius, it reaches 490 HP at 8,500 RPM and a maximum torque of 343 lbs ft at 5,250 RPM.
The low weight of the vehicle, at just 1,450 kg, combined with the gearbox, allows it to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 4 seconds. It reaches a maximum speed of 315 km/h. Another highlight is that it achieves a weight to power ratio of 2.8 kg per hp.
The Ferrari F430 weighs 1,450 kg. Its dimensions are 4.512 mm long, 1.214 mm high and 1.923 mm wide. The wheelbase is 2,600 mm.
