The Ferrari FXX emerges as a limited and exclusive version. It will only be available to those who already own a brand car, these individuals are chosen by Ferrari as “customer test drivers”. Only 30 copies will be produced, each worth $1.8 million.

According to a spokesman for the Italian company, the FXX is the most technologically advanced GT car the company has developed. All its technology derives from Formula 1 and its goal is to be part of a development program specially designed to obtain feedback from official drivers Michael Schumacher and Rubens Barrichello plus the opinions of non-professional client drivers who participate in the on-track evaluations.

The new model called FXX is based on the previous Ferrari Enzo. Apart from the obvious differences in the body and the aerodynamic treatment, the FXX impacts by the differences in the engine compared to the original Ferrari Enzo. It should be noted that the Ferrari FXX was not approved as a street vehicle.

While the Ferrari Enzo had a V12 of 6,000 cm3 engine capacity and 660 hp, the FXX features the same drive but evolved to more than imaginable. The revamped V12 grew to 6,262 cm3 in engine capacity and increased power to 800 hp.

Improvements in sports performance are not just from the engine... as the FXX has been aerodynamically developed to accommodate the increase of more than 140 horsepower. So the car has 40 percent more aerodynamic load and adjustable spoilers to configure the behavior of the car according to the type of circuit.

Other specially designed elements include Bridgestone 19-inch tires exclusive to the Ferrari FXX and Brembo ceramic composite brake discs to prevent expansion at high operating temperatures.

The semi-automatic 6-speed transmission has the ability to move from one gear to another in just 100 milliseconds. It is clear and explicitly stated by Ferrari technicians that the performance of the FXX is actually closer than expected to those of Formula 1monopods.

And exactly as it is done in F1, the car will be monitored. This Ferrari incorporates real-time telemetry of 39 vital parameters for the evaluation of vehicle behaviour throughout the circuit. The information collected allows to continue with the development of technology applicable in racing cars.
