Here is the story of a 1940 Ford that was restored by its owner to deliver as a gift to his son. The restoration lasted just over 4 years. The goal was not to alter the appearance of the car too much, but to equip it with more modern technology to increase its safety. Since its performance is more than any coupe of that time could present, it was decided to equip the old Ford with modern brake systems, obviously ventilated discs, with ABS system. The original chassis was replaced by a tubular construction that cost more than $12,000.
The engine was sent to ask the U.S. This is a 7,000 cm3 V8 like the one that equipped the Ford Cobra from the 1960s. The extremely simple mechanical engine has a cast iron block and a 4 mouth Holleycarburetor. The 10.6-1 compression radius allows you to reach 430 horsepower at 6,000 rpm. A 4-speed manual transmission is connected to the engine. With such equipment, the Hot Rod described here achieves an acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.1 seconds.
This Ford has independent suspensions on all 4 wheels, which helps him maneuver without fear of spreading like a jelly on the asphalt... added to its reinforced tubular chassis. In total, nearly $30,000 was invested in making this car a spectacular Hot Rod.
