Mitsubishi officially introduced a new generation of the legendary Lancer, now called Evolution X. The exterior design is maintained. New features are in their motorization options and technical advances in traction and double clutch control systems.
The Mitsubishi Lancer once again plays a leading role as one of the world's best performing sedan cars. The Japanese company continues to develop the technology that allows it to be one of the best maneuverability cars that can be found.
The new impeller called “4B11” is 12 kg lighter than the previous one thanks to its aluminum block. This 4-cylinder in-line engine has a displacement of 2,000 cm3 and is supercharged with a turbocharger. It also has MIVEC technology and double overhead camshaft.
These characteristics allow to obtain a maximum power of 300 hp and a torque of 422 Nm at 3,500 rpm. Depending on the versions, you can choose a five-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed automatic transmission called Sport Shift Transmission (SST). This transmission is automatic and robotic. Its benefit lies in the passage of gears at the exact moment depending on engine rpm or other conditions.
With any of the available transmissions, the Mitsubishi Lancer Evo X always features all-wheel drive and S-AWC traction control system, with which the car regulates the torque and braking force on each wheel. This technology allows the Lancer Evo X to be one of the most efficient vehicles in the world in its turn.
Another area of great relevance, especially for Japanese manufacturers, is the level of fumes. Despite being equipped with a turbocharger, this new model has achieved 3 stars in emissions according to Japanese legislation. Mitsubishi Lancer Evo X emits 50% less polluting gases than required by Japanese standards.
Addressing safety, this car offers everything you expect in a next-generation Japanese vehicle: two-stage driver and passenger airbags and knee airbags for the driver.
The new Lancer Evo X is offered under two names: GSR (standard) and RS. The base model is very well equipped, including the adaptive light lighting system and S-AWC traction control. Among its options, the Lancer GSR presents the leather “package”, a kit with various body decorative elements and a kit for high performance. The latter includes Bilstein shock absorbers, springs Eibach, Brembo brakes and special tyres. You can also opt for 18 inch BBS wheels.
Meanwhile, the RS version is the lightest version since it was conceived as a base competition model. For this it lacks rear spoiler, radio and other elements that are also expendable.
Inside the Mitsubishi Lancer Evo X prioritizes functional aspect over the rest so that the driver never loses focus on handling. However, this sedan exhibits a high level of comfort and finish quality.
The seats are provided by Recaro. They are distinguished by providing excellent posture, good grip and correct ergonomic design that allows you to avoid fatigue or circulatory problems on long trips.
