Bentley Hunaudieres

I selected this prototype as a good example of traditional English design. While it looks like an exotic sporty, the details show the elegance worthy of a Bentley.

The Bentley Hunaudieres prototype gets its name from the longest straight line of the French Le Mans circuit, where maximum speeds are reached in this competition. It was performed in 1999 at the Motorshow in Genoa.

This prototype Bentley has a W16 Volkswagen engine and four-wheel drive. Delicate headlights and smooth curves along its 4,430 mm make the difference between an exotic car “rare” (unusual) and an exotic but distinguished by attention to finishing details. The same could be seen inside.

The 20-inch chrome wheels and the green body, typical of English racing cars, combine elegance and heritage. The body is made of carbon fiber panels and light metals mounted on a tubular chassis.

Despite being an advanced prototype, it was never produced or advanced into the competition arena.

It had a central W16 engine at 72° mounted longitudinally. Despite its 8.000 cm3 it is very small on the outside, it is barely 70 cm. We can mention that it has 4 valves per cylinder (DOHC), electronic fuel injection, a ratio of 78 hp / liter, 5-speed manual gearbox and rear wheel drive.

  • Power: 623 hp @ 6.000 rpm
  • Torque: 760 Nm @ 4.000 rpm
  • Top speed: 350 km/h
