Photos and characteristics of the Dodge Charger 1969

The first Dodge Charger appeared in 1966, looking Fastback like so many other cars that had incurred that fad. Rivals of these characteristics were the first Barracuda and the Ford Mustang GT Fastback. This fashion took place between 1965 and 1967.

The Charger sold fairly well between 1966 and 1967, but with William Brownlie's redesign in 1968 sales soared to unexpected levels. It had moldings on the doors and on the hood, the rear winders (C) descended with grace and style as no other car would have seen.

By 1969, minor touches were made, such as the replacement of the circular taillights with rectangular taillights and the vertical division on the front grille.

The Charger was available with vinyl roof as an optional, being able to have the car in two different colors. A color band was also applied to the glue matching the color of the vinyl ceiling.

The Charger had a 7,200 cm3 V8 440 Magnum, had 3 double-mouth carburetors and developed 375 HP of power. Automatic or manual box could be used. The Mágnum engine was used at the time for NASCARracing.
