Mercedes Benz presented the F700 Concept at the 2007 Frankfurt Motor Show. This experimental vehicle combines high-end luxury elements, a design as lavish as it is innovative plus the new hybrid engine called DieOtto that reduces consumption and emissions.

While it had been speculated that this car would be presented as a Maybach, the prototype eventually became known as the Mercedes Benz F700 Concept. It is one of the most shocking models that Mercedes has developed by the built-in technology and the advance in exterior design.

The F700 is the last of a concept cars lags that Mercedes has recently developed. These prototypes were characterized by incorporating new technologies into high-end models. The F700 Concept is displayed as a sample of what could be Mercedes Benz's “sedan of the future.”

The exterior design is marked by an imposing front, with an immense central grid and large optics. The side shows very accentuated curves that provide dynamism while maintaining elegance. The waist line is complemented by large diameter catwalks protruding in relief.

The rear catwalks show off a tinted transparent plastic cover. Its goal is to reduce the turbulence of the rear rim and increase aerodynamic efficiency.

The Mercedes Benz F700 Concept is so unique because it combines luxury and comfort in a size very similar to the current S Class (5.170 mm long) but with features typical of a smaller and lighter car. Its 1,800 cm3 engine engine, 4-cylinder DieSotto engine delivers similar performance as any 3,500 cm3 V6 naphthous drive or even a 3,000 cm3 turbodiesel V6 could offer.

The engine of DieOtto is 4-cylinder with 1.800 cm3, 4-cylinder with 4 valves per cylinder. Its main feature is self-combustion by pressure as in diesel. The great merit lies in a very low fuel consumption of just 5.3 litres per 100 km and, better yet, less environmental impact. This engine emits only 127 g/km of CO2.

In addition, the Mercedes Benz F700 Concept features a “smart” suspension system that recognizes the characteristics of the terrain. This system is named Pre-Scan.

The interior of the F700 concept was designed at the Mercedes Advanced Design Center in Como, Italy. Designed with good judgment, the interior offers the passenger generous comfort and versatility in details such as the seat behind the front passenger's seat that can be rotated to point forward or backward.

The square steering wheel stands out on the front for easy visibility of the display. The seats feature a visible metal frame, multiple position adjustments and adjustable air conditioning. Behind is a mini-fridge for sushi.
