The new generation of the Renault Twingo is aimed almost exclusively at young audiences, incorporating design details and accessories related to the taste of the target segment. It will be presented with four motorizations and its sale in Europe will begin the second quarter of 2007.

The new Renault Twingo is the smallest car of the French brand, although its measurements were increased compared to the original version. This size difference aims to improve interior habitability, providing sufficient comfort to four adult passengers.

The exterior design of the Twingo is clearly related to the rest of the products offered by Renault. The body is practically the same as the Twingo Concept presented at the Paris Motor Show 2006, although much more refined in details such as the catwalks and rear optics.

This Twingo is essentially the same three doors of the past, now more spacious but less innovative in its aesthetics. The car measures 3,600 mm long, 1,640 wide and 1,470 high. The interior is comfortable thanks to a wheelbase of 2,370 mm and the seating arrangement.

Renault offers six possibilities of equipment for the Twingo. Optional include: six airbags, automatic climate control, stability control, xenon headlights, leather upholstery and rain sensors. The more special version is called GT and includes stiffer suspensions and sporty aesthetic details such as a subtle rear spoiler, air intake and chrome rear-view mirrors.

Of the four engines to choose three are nafteros. The range always uses the same 4-cylinder impeller with 1,200 cm3 engine capacity but with powers of 60 hp, 75 hp and 100 hp for the GT model. The latter is equipped with a turbocharger and achieves a maximum torque of 14.79 kgm.

Meanwhile, the dCi diesel option of 1.500 cm3 displacement develops a power of 65 hp. All Twingo engines use the same 5-speed manual gearbox.

The interior of the Twingo is distinguished by the diversity of details that give it a very youthful feel. The analog tachometer stands out behind the wheel, while the digital speedometer is held on the center console.

Comfort elements are thought out on the standard of life of the average young user. That's why Twingo has USB chargers for devices such as iPod and cell phones. It also has an on-board computer that accesses the internet and allows the installation of one of a microphone for the Bluetooth connection.
