This Ferrari was built with a single final objective, and this is the competition Villa d “Este Concours d” Elegance, held in Italy. The model is based on the Ferrari 575M, but with the aesthetics that Zagato considered that more elegance provided, always maintaining the sporty lineage of a Ferrari.
Car collector Yoshiyuki Hayashi, who has exclusive cars in his private collection such as a Ferrari 250 Spider California, a 166 MM and a pair of Ferrari 365 Daytona , especially commissioned Zagato the design and manufacture of this unique piece of collection, which was later named Ferrari 575 GT Zagato.
This re-stylized model bears the name 575 GTZ, in part recalling the 50th anniversary of the remembered 250 GTZ Berlinetta model. Some details are reminiscent of the 250 GTZ, such as the delicate side air vents and the work done with the paint.
Zagato achieved a good balance, as it is difficult to combine various intentions into a single design.
The styling of the 575 GT Zagato combines traditional features of the Ferrari of yesteryear, with distinctive elements present in contemporary models of the Italian house.
It is easy to find lines that link this development of exterior design with that made in models such as the Ferrari 599 GTB and 612 Scaglietti .
