Audi Q7

Audi presented the Q7 off-road vehicle at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September 2005. This 4x4 has technological innovations and features typical of an advanced vehicle. It will be the largest European off-road vehicle, and in Germany there are already reservations at an initial base price of almost €50,000.

Another Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) for a market packed with offers. This time it is the Q7, presented by Audi. With a moderate base price of almost 50 thousand euros, it is an excellent alternative to the SUVs offered by Mercedes Benz, BMW, Volkswagen and Porsche, being the Audi larger than the previous ones. Outside it shows an unmistakable familiarity with the other products offered by the German company. It is very refined, with a rough and imposing presence, like a good modern German car.

Thanks to its size, which has a wheelbase of just over 3 meters, it comfortably accommodates 7 passengers in its 7 comfortable seats. The seats are rebuttable and reconfigurable in position and orientation. This allows you to customize the interior according to your needs or expand the load space. Another important detail in the interior is the presence of alternative materials to the usual ones in Audi. The goal is, without giving up luxury, to ensure a longer service life of such materials. This is because they are supposed to be exposed to more harsh and worn-out use in a 4x4 than in a high-end sedan.

SUVs of a certain level of luxury nowadays are an imposed fashion, so Audi cleverly joins the segment. Success is almost certain, because even before the product was commercialized, the repercussions have already been noticed. Q7 is being discussed in the specialized media since before its presentation at the Frankfurt Motor Show. Perhaps Audi "s only surprise at the exhibition was the hybrid version of the Q7.

Initially, the Audi Q7 will be released with two engines, a 4.200 cm3 V8 naphthera that develops 350 horsepower and 440 Nm torque; the second option is a 3.000 cm3 6 cylinders (Turbo Diesel) that delivers 233 horsepower and a 500 Nm torque. In both cases the transmission box will be a six-speed Tiptronic. Audi technology includes state-of-the-art Quattro traction that includes a renewed Torsen differential, which divides the 40:60 pair (front and rear).

The Audi Q7 has independent air suspension with double swinging arms front and rear. Most of its parts are made of aluminum. Clearance with respect to the ground ranges from 180 mm to 240 mm depending on the selected option. 235/60 tires fit 18-inch rims, but can be purchased as an optional 20-inch tires.
