Toyota exhibited its new 2007 Camry Hybrid at the Detroit Motor Show. This sedan, a leader in sales in the US market, will serve as another way to impose hybrid technology among consumers. Toyota expands its range of more environmentally friendly hybrid cars, while seeking to consolidate its market dominance.
The Toyota Camry represents a symbol of Toyota's expansion worldwide. With successful sales in all markets, the Camry is available in more than 100 countries with a wealth of technical options and adaptations for each market.
It can be said that the Hybrid is the most special of the Camry, due to all the symbolic load it presents, thus conveying the philosophy and vision of Toyota. Not only for the technological aspect, but this limited edition will be the 50th anniversary celebration of Toyota in the United States.
This huge sedan is equipped with a 4-cylinder (fuel) engine and an electric motor, plus an energy recovery system. With this combination, the Camry Hybrid delivers 187 hp power.
The engine of VVT-i Hybrid Synergy Drive is a 4-cylinder engine of 2,400 cm3. With power assistance and power recovery, the Camry Hybrid reduces emissions by 70% compared to its V6 engine torque.
Another example of this advanced technical development can be seen in the aerodynamic aspect. With a very low coefficient of 0.27 (well below the market average), the use of the drive system is optimal, avoiding wasting more energy.
The fuel consumption of the Camry is excellent for such a car, reaching a range of almost 17 kilometres per litre.
Finally, we highlight the anti-pollution system Plasmacluster. This ionizing air filter allows fresh, clean air to be breathed in the interior even when smoke or contaminants are outside.
Undoubtedly, Toyota is setting the tone for what is coming in the near future of the automotive industry, while confirming its dominant status in the various markets.
