Ford presented in Argentina the new F100 4x4, one of the most iconic Ford vehicles in this country. With a smooth redesign on the outside, the new utility truck features 2 and 4 door versions. It also offers a more powerful engine and incorporates 4x4 all-wheel drive. The price varies, depending on the equipment, between 96,500 and 110,800 Argentine pesos.
Ford's biggest pick up is now the new F100 4x4. The exterior design modifications are quite superfluous, although marked enough to try to give a more imposing character to the vehicle. And this is a consequence of the designs of rival Chrysler.
The new Dodge Ram is so aparatously immense and exaggerated in elements like headlights and grille, that all the other vans look small next to it. There's no rival who's not trying to compete with the Ram. And Ford wouldn't be the exception.
The renovated F100 4x4 also features a disproportionately large grill featuring four chrome horizontal bars. Next to it, polycarbonate lights do not lag behind in size. Below, the bumper integrates with both the grill and the front trims. The overall appearance of the vehicle is rather rough, although quite better than the previous F100.
The new Ford F100 has an all-wheel drive system that is very close to that of the Ford Ranger. This system is operated directly by the user from a dial in the cab. While the all-wheel drive can be switched on or off with the moving vehicle, to engage the “low” truck must stop completely.
The F100 is equipped with a common rail turbodiesel engine. The 3,900 cm3 in-line four-cylinder impeller delivers 203 hp power and is coupled to a five-speed manual gearbox. An interesting advance is the adoption of the electric accelerator. This same engine will then be used in all Ford vehicles in this range.
This F100 is available with single cab (2 doors) and double cab (4 doors). Two levels of equipment, called XL Plus and XLT, can be chosen. The XLT model stands out for its aluminum alloy wheels on larger tires (265/75 vs 235/85 of the XL Plus). Other details lie in the interior and the board, where you will also find an mp3 player.
Of course, these differences are also evident in prices.
The difference between the single traction version and the 4x4 is over 15,000 pesos. The following are the prices according to the level of equipment: + Single Cab XL Plus 4x2: $83.800- + Single Cab XLT 4x2: $93.000- + Double Cab XL Plus 4x2:104.800- + XLT 4x4 Double Cab: 101.800- + Single Cab XL Plus 4x4: $96,500- + Single Cab XLT 4x4: $103.000- + Double Cab XL Plus 4x4:104.800- + Double Cab XLT 4x4:110.800-
