Vector M12 was the last of Vector Aeromotive's unique creations to be produced in series. Eighteen units equipped with V12 engines provided by Lamborghini were built. Subsequently the Vector SRV8 was developed, which could not be marketed and saw the end of the company.
Following the illegal sale (see history) of Vector Aeromotive Corporation to Megatech, the legal battle waged by Gerald Wiegert was successful and Vector resumed its activities. The Vector M12 was a renovation project for the hopes of this company, which was on the ground by various factors.
The new car named M12 maintained the overall design style and the same constructive criteria. A big difference was the replacement of the old Oldsmobile V8 engine with a 5,707 cm3 engine and 490 hp Lamborghini V12 engine. Another more coherent difference for a sports car was the replacement of the old 3-speed automatic gearbox with a 5-speed manual.
The production of the 18 units of Vector M12 was carried out over a period of 4 years, between 1995 and 1999.
