The 2007 Mercedes Benz Class CL coupe is similar in many respects to the S-Class sedan, on which it is based, especially on its interior and the level of equipment. It has advanced systems to improve walking comfort, such as active “intelligent” suspensions that reduce lateral swings while riding.
Inaugurably, Mercedes will present 2 engine options to equip the CL Class. Both thrusters are currently used in the S-Class.
First there is a V8 of 5,500 cm3 engine capacity that delivers a power of 388 hp. This V8 transmits its power through a seven-speed 7G-Tronic automatic box.
The other engine option is a V12, also 5,500 cm3, although in this case it has two turbochargers. So this V12 biturbo develops 517 hp of power. Currently, this V12 engine has a five-speed automatic gearbox, however, Mercedes is likely to prepare a specially calibrated 7G-Tronic case for this impeller.
As far as security is concerned, progress is remarkable. The 2007 Mercedes CL Class presents a new warning system for an impending collision. This will allow the vehicle to detect risk situations by itself and react, reducing reaction times. Those tenths of seconds of difference save situations of accidents almost inevitable by drivers. When the system warns that the car is facing a crash, it automatically activates the brakes.
