Porsche would launch on the market a 4-door sedan. It is expected to arrive in 2008.
Rumor has it that Porsche plans to build a 4-door sedan. And as he did in the past with his 4x4 Cayenne model, he would work in partnership for development along with Volkswagen. According to specialist German media, this high-performance sedan will be the fourth Porsche car after the classic 911, the Boxster and the Cayenne van. 20,000 units would be manufactured annually at the Leipzig plant.
Of course, this version was not officially accepted. A spokesman for the Stuttgart house said that it is nothing but speculation on the part of the press, as nothing is decided.
It was also anticipated that Porsche will present a renewed Boxster at the Paris Motor Show in September 2005, which will be released by the end of the same year.
A new 911 would also be presented, which they did officially announce. But nothing will be said about a fourth car until the two sports cars already mentioned are put on sale.
The magazine “Auto Motor und Sport” from Germany published that the price of the sedan for resellers would be in the order of 220,000 euros. They also added that they are expected to distribute 75,000 units worldwide. Of course, 35,000 would be stationed in the United States.
But Porsche has plenty to deal with with its three models currently on sale. While sales of the Cayenne van exceeded expectations, the Boxster sports car after 8 years in the market has a significant decline in sales.
And as it could not be otherwise, fans of the automotive environment have already begun to spread opinions through cyberspace. Many websites abound with frustrated comments, disappointed to see how, apparently, the market is so competitive that it forced Porsche into other segments so that it could then keep finances in order.
