The 50 fastest cars in the world

In this case we take as reference cars that comply with the laws of emissions (environmental pollution) and maximum decibels, excluding racing cars.

Incredibly enough, the world speed record for a street car dates back to 1938. It was on 28 January 1938 when Rudolf Caracciola aboard a Mercedes-Benz W125 Streamliner reached a record number: 433 km/h on a public highway near Frankfurt.

Caracciola and Alfred Neubauer, team leader, celebrated the achievement that morning at the Park Hotel in Frankfurt.

The Mercedes-Benz W125 Streamliner was powered by a 5.577 cm3 V12. The bodywork has an exemplary aerodynamic work, still exemplary for today's cars.
