The Zonda C12 S is the first evolution of the car created by the Argentine Horacio Pagani. This two-seater is an example of Pagani's great ability to develop and search for design solutions. It incorporates a more powerful V12 and accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.6 seconds.
The Pagani Zonda C12 S stands out for a great design and construction of the chassis. Using aeronautical engineering criteria, the chrom-molybdenum steel tubular structure has a very high torsional rigidity. This feature, combined with the use of lightweight and durable materials such as carbon fiber in the bodywork, makes an ideal set for a maximum performance car.
Thanks to the excellent chassis design, the vibration level transmitted by the improved V12 is very low, surprisingly low as the decibel level perceived from the passenger compartment. Soundproofing is optimal.
There are so many factors to highlight, that it is more fair to talk about the work of the manufacturer than about the particular details. The degree of attention paid to each element and the operation as a whole deserve the admiration of any other manufacturer. And it is more surprising to know that this is the first car developed by this young company based in Italy.
The aerodynamic development of the Pagani Zonda C12 S confirms everything previously told about the painstaking work of Pagani technicians. The main centre of pressure of the car is rearward and complemented by the front spoilers and the two small individual rear spoilers. Finally, the Zonda produces an aerodynamic load of 500 kg at a speed of 300 km/h.
The bodywork in general provides generous aerodynamic support while collaborating with aesthetics to create a look very similar to that of a racing car. The drag level is quite low, which improves the efficiency of the Zonda.
The new engine V12 Mercedes AMG has a greater displacement of 7.291 cm3 and Bosch fuel injection. The air intake system was also redesigned and is now manufactured by hand. This intake system is located at a high pressure point, thus achieving greater fuel efficiency and better performance.
The revamped V12 delivers 555 hp power at 5,900 rpm that drives the Zonda from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.6 seconds. The dynamic behavior of the car is excellent and the track tests conducted by experts stand out against other supersports.
Inside, the Zonda C12 S offers more comfort than you would expect in such a sports car. Beyond the leather seats, the aluminium pedals and the solar roof that illuminates the interior, the equipment is really complete. The Zonda has a stereo with CD player and exchanger, air conditioner and satellite navigation system.
The rear visibility improved compared to the previous Zonda C12 and the soundproofing is excellent. Another factor highly praised by experts is the absence of vibrations in the passenger compartment. In such a car, that speaks very well of the design and its manufacturing process.
