Automotive Design Teaching Institutes

This guide attempts to make a reference to the top Transport Design career study centers around the world. This race is also known with other denominations such as automotive design or automotive design, being the correct Transport Design or Vehicle Design.

This guide only refers to Official Educational Institutes, leaving aside all informal courses or workshops that do not grant a valid degree. It should also be noted that these courses are not courses or drawing schools, but vocational training courses such as Industrial Design, but specifically geared to car design.

Polytechnic Institute of Milan

In Italy stands out the famous Polytechnic Institute of Milan, where courses are taught in the various areas of design, including the specialty transport design. For more information access the following link: Polytechnic Institute of Milan.

Pforzheim University

Pforzheim University in Germany is one of the world's leading design education centres. Among his career is the Transport Design. For more information please visit the following link: Pforzheim University.

Creapole-ESDI

In Paris, France, there is one of the three most important design schools in the world. They specialize in creative design and design management, including the Transportation Designcareer. For more information access the following link: Creapole-ESDI.

Umea University

Umea University in Sweden is also a very valid alternative of international level. Among his careers is present Transport Design. For more information access the following link: Umea University.

Royal College of Art

In the UK is the Royal College of Art, which, while art oriented like Art Center College in the USA, has design careers. For more information please visit the following link: Royal College of Art.

Art Center College of Design

In the United States there is the Art Center College of Design, where they learn drawing and some technique of manufacturing products, although the strong is drawing. From there, great American cartoonists, including the prominent Thom Thaylor, graduated. For more information access the following link: Art Center College of Design.

Automotive Training Technology Institute

In Argentina, the ITCA - Instituto Tecnológico de Capacitación Automotriz - offers a one-year course in Automotive Design . It is aimed at learners learning to express and then embody creative ideas through graphic representation techniques. The aim is to provide knowledge about design factors such as aesthetics, formal, ergonomics and functional.

This course is intended for those who have a vocation for vehicle design without prior knowledge. It is then a theoretical-practical course focused on the intensive practice of drawing and subsequent development of design carried out in workshop. For more information and registrations see the following link: www.itca.com.ar

Motor Technology Institute

The ITM - Instituto Tecnológico de Engines - provides the first Higher Technical Engineering in Industrial Design oriented to transport (automotive design and its components), which will be opened in March 2008, in the province of Buenos Aires (Argentina). This career gives official title to tertiary level.

Special emphasis will be placed on sketching workshops and models, including technical materials for the manufacture of products oriented to automotive design (from exterior design of bodies to interior design, as well as elements of comfort, decorative, safety, mechanics, lighting fixtures and others). Further information can be found on the race page: https://www.cursositm.com.ar

Rigoletti Institute

In Mexico, the Rigoletti Institute teaches a career of automotive design named Professional Automotive Design Certification, which lasts for 2 years. Rigoletti has alliances with the Fiat Group, in which its outstanding students would participate to make valid experiences. Perhaps the most important thing for students is that they complement the artistic aspect of design with knowledge of marketing, production feasibility and product engineering.

While teaching how to model 3-dimensional cars in a medium-low CAD program, such as Rhinoceros, the Bocetaje workshops and clay modeling practices are interesting. Those interested can access through the following link: Rigoletti Casa de Diseño.
