The new Mégane II coupe-cabriolet is the missing gem in the Mégane II family, made up of all kinds of versions: three and five doors, four doors tricuerpo and rural, plus the Scenic minivan.
The Renault Mégane II coupe-cabriolet has a very fresh and modern design, combining different features that give it a sporty and youthful look without leaving a certain elegance. This coupe car with folding hard roof turns into a cabriolet in just 22 seconds: this is your charm.
The design is excellently executed, as it always looks well worked out, both with the ceiling and without it. We can say that it is the most exclusive version of the Mégane II series.
The most interesting and distinctive feature of the rest is its fully glazed ceiling, which allows light to invade the interior with its full intensity. This gives a great sense of space and freedom, even when the ceiling is on. It is the first coupe-convertible with a fully glazed roof. Combining good design and technology, the ceiling opens in just 22 seconds.
This model is manufactured at the industrial plant in Douai, France. While its final completion is carried out by the German bodybuilder Karmann. The German company and Renault have formed a company to carry out this type of special work.
The Renault Mégane II coupe-cabriolet engine is naturally-aspirated and has a double overhead camshaft (DOHC), 4 cylinders with 4 valves per cylinder and engine displacement of 2.000 cm3. This impeller has a power of 138 hp and is coupled to a 6-speed manual transmission that adds driving pleasure to the unmatched driving feeling of cabriolet vehicles.
The interior of the Mégane II coupe-cabriolet is comfortable for the occupants of the front seats, but not so much behind, where the seats offer a small space suitable for short journeys. The interior harmoniously combines a modern and provocative look, reasonable space for this type of car and the widest trunk of its category in coupe version.
As far as comfort elements are concerned, this Mégane II has automatic climate control; rain sensor; automatic lighting; CD radio with separate satellite control and MP3 player; on-board computer with 7 functions and simultaneous actuation function for the 4 glass lifters.
The upholstery of the seats is made of leather, as is the 3-spoke steering wheel adjustable in height and depth, the shift lever and the handbrake. It remains only to note that the folding roof has electric drive.
The safety aspect is another of the strengths of this new model since it has ABS brakes with electronic braking distribution (EBV) and the Renault Protection System (SRP) which consists of adaptive front airbags, side head and chest airbags and seat airbag to prevent the “submarinated” effect.
The Mégane II coupe-cabriolet features safety arches to protect all its occupants. In turn, the programmed deformation structure plus 3-point belts with pretensioner and stress limiter complete a highly compliant safety package.
