Renault executives handled their conference minutes very well, including information from various areas, achievements and ambitions of the company. But the most forceful thing was the Logan that will be manufactured in Brazil. For this venture Renault invested 200 million pesos and employed 1,200 people (400 directly related).
15 million pesos were also invested for the production of Kangoo. Although with more enthusiasm it was reported that Renault will implement a Road Safety Program, considering as a pillar of growth for society the training and education of people on this issue.
On time, the cars present on the market were the Clio; the Kangoo Sportway; the new Megane II in 4 and 5 doors versions, Grand Scenic II, Grand Tour (break) and coupe-convertible; plus the Laguna II in its two versions, 5 doors and Grand Tour; and to conclude The Logan.
The 2007 Megane II range offers a meritorious unique design in its five bodies. The customer's ability to choose different levels of equipment and a wide range of engines, including nafteros and turbodiesel models, is very interesting.
The Renault Laguna II stands out for being the first car to get five stars in the EuronCap safety tests. Complementing this merit with its excellent engines and complex equipment and interior comfort.
One of the most important cars for Renault due to its symbolism and its possible penetration and positioning in the market is undoubtedly the Logan. Produced entirely in Brazil and generating jobs, this project demonstrates the commitment of the rhombus brand to progress in the region.
This family car with comfortable interior space, reasonable exterior dimensions and naphthous and turbodiesel engines is presented as a challenging in its market segment. Its prices will be between 43 thousand pesos (Nafta Confort 1.6) and 53 thousand pesos (diesel dCi Luxe 1.5).
Other cars exhibited were the 2007 Formula 1 season Renault R27 and the contemporary Megane competing in the Argentine championship TC 2000, driven by Guillermo Ortelli and Emiliano Spataro. As always Renault also stands out successfully in sports motorsport.
The note of color and exoticism was undoubtedly the Renault Altica concept. This prototype shows Renault's vision of the rural areas of the future, combining comfort, practicality and sports performance.
The Renault Altica concept incorporates a 177 hp diesel engine was developed jointly with Nissan. Its distinctive feature lies in the use of a particulate filter and its attachment to a six-speed box to reduce fuel consumption.
The conference concluded with the advance presentation of the new television commercial of the new Renault Logan.
