The brand-new Civic 8th generation will try to maintain the successful tradition of the Honda medium model, born in 1972. In Europe, it competes in the C segment, with a few advantages over its rivals, such as the Audi A3 and the BMW 1 Series. It will be manufactured in 11 countries and marketed in at least 160 countries. Civic sales are expected to account for nearly one third of Honda's total sales worldwide.

Although outwardly the car seems smaller, internally it is not. The cab is longer than that of its predecessor, since the front windshield is mounted on the hood. This gives it a more sporty character than the previous model. In turn, it allows greater use of the interior space, which, while it is good, access to it is not so much. The rear doors are too short and, due to the format of the windows, it enters the rear squares of the Civic demands an undesirable contortion.

Technologically, Honda continues to stand out. The results of the crash tests carried out by the Euro NCAP were very satisfactory. He received 5 stars in front and side impact tests, 3 stars in the field of traffic safety and 4 stars in a range that brings prestige for sales: onboard safety for children. The Honda Civic is then claimed to be one of the safest cars in its segment.

Another sample of the Honda technology is the driver information system. The Dual Link system provides information on the instrument panel in front of the pilot, placing the main information above and below the secondary information. In this way, the driver accesses vital and varied information reducing the risk of distraction or poor display location.
