Cadillac One Hundred

The Hundred was a preview of what Cadillac wants for its cars in the near future. His body, inspired by the F-22 Stealth Fighter warplane, received the 2002 North American Auto Show Award for Best Concept Car.

The design criterion of the Hundred proposes surfaces free of ornaments and formal transitions with small radii of curvature. This is directly associated with military aircraft technology, where no aircraft presents ornaments or surfaces that alter the correct aerodynamic function. The proportions between hood cabin and height make the car very dynamic, that is to say it generates illusion of movement even parked. The style of the front and rear optics is common to the current models of the brand. The grid has features of another concept that impacted on its presentation a few years ago: the Evoq.

It's a lot of experience that Cadillac has accumulated in racing car construction in recent years, as it participated with a prototype in endurance races such as Daytona 24 hours, Le Mans 24 and Sebring 12 hours. Taking advantage of this experience, he derived technology and construction methods in carbon fiber for the creation of the chassis and body of the Hundred. This gives you a car as safe and durable as it is light. Side air inlets are electronically controlled to regulate the desired airflow according to the immediate requirements of the engine.

The Cadillac Cien hides beneath its futuristic lines a Northstar XV12 Concept engine. Fully constructed of aluminum, this 4-valve V12 (DOHC) per cylinder delivers 750 HP and 450 lbs foot torque. Because it is a concept engine, there are no precise performance specifications of the Cien, although it is possible to predict that its fuel consumption is equivalent to that of a V8 engine.

In the cabin the deployment of technology is sublime. The structure in advanced materials provides comfort and safety to its two occupants. Technologically incorporates systems already known in the brand such as OnStar, Night Vision (night vision more than 100 meters from the car) and StabiliTrak for traction and rolling control. It also features Ultrasonic Rear Parking Assist, an alarm that triggers when the car in reverse approaches an object or person. Finally, the Communiport system integrates all the audio devices of the vehicle with those of computing, satellite navigation and wireless communications, allowing the operation of any of them by voice activated controls only.

The instrument is digital and all the on-board functions are performed by the driver, as are diagnostic and satellite navigation information. There are LCD screens to view the images provided by the rear view cameras of the vehicle.
