Peugeot presented at the Geneva Motor Show 2007 the new 207 Coupe Cabriolet. The new coupe cabriolet of the French brand will be manufactured in Madrid and will incorporate an engine developed jointly with BMW that also equips the Mini 2007. There will be 3 engine versions to choose from, two naphthons and one diesel.

Driven by the success achieved with the commercialization of the 206 CC, Peugeot is betting on staying ahead in this market segment with the new Peugeot 207 Coupe Cabriolet. The exterior design of this car stands out from its line brothers by the clearly defined surface of the trunk and the unique design of the retractable roof.

The rigid but folding roof is activated by pressing a button in the passenger compartment for 25 seconds. The rest of the process is fully automatic and is optimized with respect to the system present in the previous model. The trunk has a capacity of 449 liters which is reduced to just 187 when the roof is folded and housed there.

The new Peugeot 207 Coupe Cabriolet incorporates the same safety elements as the sedan, adding a specially developed system for this car. The arch-like spouts located behind the rear seats have the ability to move. If a rollover occurs, the springs that hold the arches are released allowing those spouts to rise 20 centimeters to prevent occupants from hitting their heads. This shall work whenever the occupant uses the seat belt.

The small 207 CC is presented with three engine options. Two naphtha powered boosters, one 1,600 cm3 and 120 hp and the other 1,600 cm3 and 150 hp, while the HDi diesel option maintains the same engine capacity but with a power of 110 hp.

All engines are coupled to the same 6-speed manual gearbox, which receives different tuning depending on the impeller. In the case of the 120 hp engine, the user can choose a 4-speed automatic gearbox with sequential drive Tiptronic System Porsche.

Inside there are plenty of comfort elements, such as air conditioner or bi-zone climate control (optional), a freshener with seven varieties of fragrances and sporty design details. The concept is youthful but sober, combining materials, colours and upholstery with textile materials or optionally all leather.

The interior safety equipment is very complete, featuring four seat belts with three-point anchor pretensioners and stress limiters, complemented by visual and auditory alerts when they are not being used by the occupants of the car. The 207 CC also features two front airbags, two side airbags and one on the steering column (for protection of the driver's lower limbs).

The Peugeot 207 Coupe Cabriolet will be available for the European market by the beginning of the second quarter of 2007.
