Based on the development made for the 207 RCUP prototype, Peugeot presents this new version called 207 Super 2000 to compete in 2007 in the rally Super 2000 organized by the renowned television network EuroSport.
The development of the Peugeot 207 Super 2000 began with its first tests in May 2006, evaluating each adjustment in time to ensure its participation in the Intercontinental Rally Challenge (IRC). This event is organised by the EuroSport TV channel.
Designed to suit every possible stage of the championship, the Peugeot 207 Super 2000 has all the elements that make up a real racing car: large wheels, striking spoilers and notorious exhaust outlets.
The wheels are made up of 18-inch lightweight alloy wheels that fit on 235/40 R18 tyres.
As far as the aerodynamic treatment is concerned, the 207 Super 2000 has a front and rear spoiler to generate the necessary downforce according to aerodynamics studies of the car floor. Above, a discreet rear spoiler complements the load needed to harness the full power of the car.
The engine that drives the Peugeot 207 Super 2000 is a 4-cylinder in-line of 2,000 cm3 engine powered by naphtha. This small engine has double overhead camshaft plus four valves per cylinder.
All this technology is combined to achieve a maximum power of 280 hp at 8,500 rpm. To bring all the power to the ground Peugeot adopted a six-speed sequential gearbox and four-wheel drive.
Inside it becomes clear that it is a racing car, between the tubular cage and the racing seats with 4-point harnesses there is not much to discover. Nothing is preserved inside the Peugeot 207 street.
It remains to wait for his debut and evaluate the results in a 2007 year in which Peugeot has great goals in sports motorsport, and it is worth remembering that he will try to succeed in the legendary 24 Hours of Le Mans with the 908 dieselprototype.
