The fashion of car customization no longer has borders or fixed customers. All countries have their audience dedicated to tuning. And it is very interesting how this activity reflects the economic possibilities of each place.
Many popular custom cars are seen in Latin America. Brands such as Volkswagen, Fiat and Renault, traditionally of cheap models of great sale, are sought because the difference in the purchase price allows a subsequent investment in modifications and purchases of accessories. Although you can always discover tuning in Asian cars like Honda and Toyota, and even more valuable cars like Mercedes Benz, BMW and even some other Ferrari...
But the most frequent case is the customization of well-standard cars, which receive aesthetic modifications that resemble cars of higher value and category. A sample of this, was appreciated when the Ferrari F50 appeared, with its hood open with two large air channels. Popular cars, such as the Fiat Uno and the VW Gol, appeared immediately, with bonnet made of fiberglass copying this particular feature.
Under the hood there are also changes, you can always get a little more power from an engine... And to accompany the change and improve performance, suspension changes, spoilers are added, tyre quality is improved and “never forget to improve the brake system”.
Another crucial factor in tuning is tires. Not only the size, but the design mainly. Spoke rims are usually chosen to allow you to see through the brake discs. It is already common to see tires with LEDs or rings with striking blue or orange lights. There is even a device with diodes that by turning the wheels at more than a certain number of rpm, they illuminate by displaying words.
Another model of attractive and highly sold tires is the ones that rotate even when the car is stopped. The rays are not attached to the rim or rim on which the tire fits, achieving independence to be able to rotate at another pace or reverse direction. Very interesting... buah!
Since many of the “tuned” cars are designed to participate in exhibitions and competitions, some decide to go beyond good audio equipment. There are those who decide to resign the cargo space of the car trunk to place huge loudspeakers of very high power.
The truth is that normally the car makes a lot of noise but of very poor quality... because the power is a lot and the distortion too, so the fidelity of the sound is forgotten.
Tuning is actually more interesting as an aesthetic phenomenon than functional. The truth is that a car modified in street shops can never offer the same guarantees as a car left out of the factory.
The fine balance between performance, suspensions (which make stability) and safety of the brake system, because no custom car is made to walk slowly... never turns out to be as good as the balance and safety offered and guaranteed by a high-performance car, but fully assembled in the factory.
