The Audi TT Clubsport Quattro is a prototype developed to assess public response. This car designed as a “tuning” model is especially aimed at the German public, who has shown a fervent passion for customization and tuning.
Based on the new Audi TT Roadster, Audi carried out an excellent combination of technical development and tuning design. The engine has components derived from competition, while the design rescues classic elements and integrates them into a totally tuning scheme.
From the outside, the design amazes with its extra low windshield without screens, continued to the side and simulating windows in its slightest expression. The design includes a retro style in that type of features, linking it to a classic like the Porsche 356 Speedster.
The mouldings located behind the safety arches and the fact that there is no hood are also reminiscent of the racing cars of yesteryear. The size of the exterior mirrors has been reduced to a minimum. It has very few outstanding ornamental details of the body.
The front grid responds to the same proportions as the traditional one used in all Audi vehicles, although larger in size, its frame is more coarse and is complemented by two lower sockets on each side divided by a horizontal line. The logo of the four rings of the brand was not placed on the grill but on the hood of the engine.
The colours used combine the Audi class with the strident spirit of tuning. The grey paint of the TT Clubsport Quattro, known as Daytona Grey, resembles the appearance of a fine polished metal, while the brake jaws and some details of the interior in a striking orange colour make the ensemble look “elegantly sporty”.
Inside the passenger compartment the black leather lining is harmoniously twinned with polished aluminium elements and orange details such as armrests, visors, centre console outline and rear seats.
As for the technology applied to the Audi TT Clubsport Quattro, we can start with the door opening system (without handle) by remote control. Then, between the circular air outlets located in the center console, a B & O BeoSound 2 MP3 player is presented. This player also circular and of the same size as the outputs allows you to enjoy a high fidelity sound.
For the first time, the Audi TT has ceramic brakes such as those present on the RS 4 models and on the A8 and S8. Ceramic brakes completely eliminate the fading effect. Another novelty is the use of a dual clutch gearbox with automatic manual gearbox S tronic. This system allows you to change gears virtually without traction cutting and its softness makes it almost imperceptible. The driver can choose to select all six gears in manual mode.
As far as the engine is concerned, the Audi TT Clubsport Quattro is equipped with a renovated TFSI four-cylinder drive of 2,000 cm3 and supercharged by a turbocharger. This engine has direct fuel injection and has a maximum power of 300 hp. It should be noted that the engine has a racing air filter.
This revamped model would be the first TT of the new generation with four-cylinder engine that adopts the four-cylinder all-wheel drive permanently.
Finally, we highlight the size of the 20-inch wheels mounted on 265/30 R20 tires.
